Our Story

Meet Benjamin and Maddison (Maddie), two Shih Tzus who filled our life with joy for over 15 years. Benjamin faced a heart condition and suffered a stroke late in life, but he showed incredible resilience, staying with us for another year. Maddie, however, left us not long after Benjamin. Both passed peacefully in my arms at home, surrounded by love.

Maddie had Cushing's disease, and a heart tumor, but despite countless visits to different vets over the years, it went undiagnosed—a frustration that still lingers. It often felt like we lived at the vet’s office, juggling appointments day and night. We always made it clear to our veterinarian: when the time comes, please let us know so we can avoid any suffering. Our priority was to ensure our fur babies were never in pain.

As they aged, getting the right medical advice and care became more crucial than ever. However, the skyrocketing costs of veterinary care are daunting, especially when so many people are already struggling with living expenses. This is why pet insurance is essential—it’s a lifeline for many pet owners, yet the costs keep climbing.

This website is dedicated to Benjamin and Maddie, with the hope of helping other pet owners navigate the challenges of caring for senior animals and advocating for better veterinary practices. Together, we can ensure our beloved pets get the love and care they deserve!

We have two adorable fur babies named Buddy and Millie, both Shih Tzus. Buddy is 4.5 years old, and Millie is just 2. Our family has included a variety of breeds over the years—Kerry Blue Terrier, Chihuahua, German Shepherd, and, of course, our beloved Shih Tzus.  Both Buddy and Millie quickly stole our hearts and have become a cherished part of our family.

We live on a beautiful property teeming with wildlife, with up to 20 red-necked wallabies and a vibrant array of birds, primarily King Parrots colorful parrots visiting us on a daily basis.

Our mission is to provide a wealth of information and resources to support anyone caring for a senior dog or cat. We understand the unique challenges that come with aging pets, and we want to empower pet owners with the knowledge they need to ensure their furry companions live happy, healthy lives. From health tips and nutrition advice to the latest treatment options, we’re dedicated to helping you navigate this journey. Together, we can enhance the quality of life for our beloved senior pets!
